Kathy Kennebrook explains step by step how to find the owners of vacant houses, mail to the owners of vacant houses and then create a real estate investment deal with the owners of the vacant house.
These are not from “Vacant House Lists” but rather homes you find to be vacant in your travels around neighborhoods you want to buy – driving, biking or walking for dollars.
Once you find the home to be vacant you then need to locate the owner and send them a letter telling them that you buy houses. But how do you find the owner?
First, have flyers and tape with you and leave a flyer on the house.
Second, talk to the neighbors, they are a wealth of information and may tell you where they went, how to get in touch and the entire story on the home. They may not.
Next, look it up in the tax records and send them a letter, even if the tax record says that the mailing address is the house, it may get forwarded.
Use a skip trace service to locate the owner and send them a letter.
Google the owner name and the address, you never know what you might find through various websites.
