When you get into real estate or notes in today’s real estate market, one of the key components of your business will be finding quality partners who might bring you motivated sellers, bring you funding or partner with you in the endeavor.
One of the better ways to find some of these key people is through networking, not with people at the local REIA group but rather with other groups that may be of your interest.
Some examples of places where you should be networking and sharing what it is you do might be
- Church Functions
- With Other Parents at School Functions
- Events and Associations from your Current or Past Job
- Sporting Leagues
- Community Events
- Charity Events and Gatherings
- Chamber of Commerce Events
It is also advisable to practice your networking skills with like minded people to not only brush up on your skills, but to also get ideas of what other people are doing.
So as you participate in the Speed Networking Meeting at MAREI on Tuesday December 9th, take note of what others are saying and doing. You may get quite a few great ideas to utilize yourself and you get practice in talking with others.
So if you want to build your network outside of the real estate industry, you need to practice within your industry.
Note our 3rd Annual Speed Networking to Benefit the Marines Toys for Tots Foundation will be held at the Tuesday December 13th meeting of Mid-America Association of Real Estate Investors. There is no charge for the meeting, however we do ask that all attendees bring a new unwrapped toy to help us reach our goal of 4 heaping boxes of toys. Click here to RSVP so we have a solid idea of how many people will be participating in the evening.
