In Partnership with Harvester’s the Community Food Network, Mid-America Association of Real Estate Investors Raised Funds for 5000 Meals
Kansas City, MO, July 10, 2013: Mid-America Association of Real Estate Investors Held their Third Annual Networking and Vendor Night for Charity and through Guest Fees and Raffle Ticket Sales they raised enough money to provide 5000 meals through a corporate match program with Harvester’s Community Food Network.
How Harvester’s Works: Through corporate buying programs and donations, $1 donated to Harvesters provides 5 Meals. So if a $100 donation is make, 500 Meals are provided.
MAREI’s Vendor and Networking Night: Started as a night just for members to network and meet each other. In 2012, they added the raffle and reduced guest fees for that night only to raise funds for Harvesters and were able to provide 1300 meals.
In 2013, Members of MAREI voted to select Harvester’s Community Food Network as the charity for the evening. Plus a few days before the meeting MAREI received a letter from Harvesters announcing a donation matching program from one of their corporate sponsors. If MAREI donated $500, they had a match of $500 to bring the donation to $1000. Doing the math that $1 equals 5 meals, that would bring their total to 5000 meals.
For the night of the meeting the donations were broken down as follows:
- · Raffle Ticket Sales $234
- · Guest Fees Online $70
- · Cash Guest Fees of $45
Bringing Total Donations to $349 MAREI is donating another $151 to bring the total donation to $500 so we can utilize the full $500 match and provide 5000 meals to hungry Kansas City families.
